Lambourn – Cottage Renovation Heating Upgrade
Global Energy Systems worked with a homeowner in Buckinghamshire during the renovation of their cottage to replace an outdated and costly oil boiler. The aim was to future-proof the property against rising energy costs while improving overall efficiency.
A Caernarfon air source heat pump was installed to provide full heating and domestic hot water via radiators, completely eliminating the need for fossil fuels.
The installation qualified for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), securing a £5,000 government grant towards the capital cost. In addition, the system is expected to deliver annual fuel savings of approximately £1,000.
This project demonstrates how heat pump technology can provide a sustainable, cost-effective alternative to oil heating in residential renovation projects.
