This large production hall is being heated by one of our 70kW air source heat pump which is providing heat via fan convectors. Annual Savings are predicted to be £20,314 against alternatives and including the RHI incentive this install is accredited to.

This large warehouse & production facility was looking at reducing their energy bills.

One 100kW air source heat pump was installed to heat the area via fan convectors. In 2015, the running costs were £7,886, the total savings including RHI are £12,000.

GES heating control was installed on a 48 crate weaning shed. Over three separate cycles the heat usage was compared between the GES heating control strategy systems and the previous heating control. Huge savings were seen by the GES heating control strategy.

Over the three cycles an average of £298 was saved with annual savings of £3,580. This is based on 12 cycles per year.

Water heating costs on dairy farms can often exceed £5,000 per year, particularly when relying on traditional immersion heaters, which are typically inefficient and energy-intensive. By contrast, an air source heat pump offers a far more efficient solution, capable of generating three to four units of heat energy for every unit of electricity consumed, delivering significant cost savings.

In this application, the heat pump is used as a pre-heating system, raising the water temperature before it is boosted to the required 90°C for hot washes. This final temperature is achieved using existing equipment, such as a Cotswold or Springfield dairy heater, allowing the farm to retain its current setup while significantly reducing overall energy demand.

Where the farmhouse is located close to the dairy, additional efficiencies can be achieved. Global Energy Systems’ technology enables the simultaneous production of heating and hot water at no extra cost. This means that while the heat pump is pre-heating water for the dairy, it can also provide hot water for the farmhouse, further reducing energy consumption and delivering additional savings for the farmer.

Overall, this approach provides a practical and cost-effective way to modernise dairy operations, improving energy efficiency while working seamlessly alongside existing systems.

This innovative fish farming project wanted a sustainable and easily installed heating solution. The four tanks are each enclosed in a geodisic dome and a mixture of shrimp and aquaponics are supported.

The 15kW air source heat pump has already been tested down to -4°C and the trial will allow estimates for the annual running costs to be determined.

This large new build with 9 rooms came straight to Global Energy Systems to heat the pig rearing mats. Five 18kW Caernarfon air source heat pumps were installed and have been keeping the temperatures set by our heating control strategy. Annual savings for this install are £6,000 which includes payments from the RHI Non domestic scheme which has been accepted.

Global Energy Systems installed an 18kW Caernarfon air source heat pump to serve new build classrooms at Keswick School, providing efficient heating via underfloor heating (UFH) alongside domestic hot water.

In addition, the project qualified for the non-domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme, enabling the school to receive financial payments over a 20-year period, further enhancing the long-term value of the investment.

St Anne’s School – Classroom Heating Upgrade

Global Energy Systems installed two 9kW air source heat pumps to provide efficient heating for a new build consisting of two classroom blocks at St Anne’s School.

Since the installation in 2015, the system has delivered reliable, low-carbon heating while significantly reducing energy costs. The school now benefits from annual savings of £2,164, demonstrating the long-term financial and environmental advantages of adopting heat pump technology.

Facing the challenge of heating a very large Victorian school building, Clarence High School is now heated by a Cambridge 100kW air source heat pump. The school has a large existing radiator based heating system and a full upgrade was not a viable option, so a system that offered improved costs and emissions was needed that could cope with the status quo.

Global Energy Systems, working with the Clarence High School’s contractor, specified a Cambridge 100kW air source heat pump, installed with gas boilers as a bivalent heating solution. This allowed the air source heat pump to contribute to the heat load for the full heat season but offered the most effective capital plan. The air source runs whenever there is a heat demand from the buildings.

The bespoke software developed by Global Energy Systems senses when additional heat is required. The gas boilers are then automatically fired until the demand is met. In winter months the air source heat pump feeds the gas boilers with pre-heated water ensuring that efficiencies are maximised.
