Manor Barn – Hybrid Heating Upgrade

The owner of this large barn conversion was previously reliant on an oil boiler to heat the entire property. With rising oil prices, they sought a more efficient and cost-effective alternative.

Global Energy Systems supplied and installed a 15kW air source heat pump, operating alongside the existing oil boiler in a hybrid (bi-valent) system. The installation provides heating via radiators and underfloor heating, as well as meeting the property’s full domestic hot water demand.

This approach significantly reduces reliance on oil while maintaining reliable performance. The system is delivering annual savings of £2,550 compared to the previous setup, including income from the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), for which the installation is accredited.

This project demonstrates how hybrid heat pump systems can provide a practical and efficient upgrade for larger properties transitioning away from traditional fuel sources.
